Five minutes with...

Collegeland O'Rahilly's Senior player Seán McNicholl is also the Clubs very own Irish Language teacher.
Seán teaches Beginner Irish Langaugae classes every Sunday at 7pm in the Clubrooms - classes are open to everyone.

Seán has also recently joined the Collegeland O'Rahilly GAC's Executive Committee, taking up the role of Assistant Secretary.

In the first of a new feature of "5 minutes with...", Queens University student Seán takes 5 minutes out to talk to collegelandorahillys.com.

Tall-ish, brown hair, magician, footballer, irish! (is that six??)

What was your first memory of Croke Park?
Armagh vs Meath 1999, barely remeber it, beat by 3 points...

Best match ever saw?
Im tempted to say Armagh vs Kerry, All Ireland Final 2002 but i was too nervous to enjoy that match!

I suppose it had to be though!!

Toughest opponent in a match?
My marker in the B Shield Final against Madden - my man was far quicker than me, couldnt keep up!!
Needless to say i was taken off!

Any phobias?
Gareth McArdle...

Toughest opponent in training?
Wouldn't like to face Barry Colhoun, or Karol McGeary

Favourite ever football player?


Of all time??? Diarmuid Marsden... fantastic!!!

Favourite pitch to play on?
Well I'd love to play on Croke Park, but so far the best pitch i've played on was Clonmore i think.
Our own pitch isnt too bad on a good day

What is on your ipod/cd player?
Oh... a lot of irish, country and a bit of rock too... very random mix of music!!

Favourite/dream holiday destination?
I'd love to go to the Amazon rainforest, and Austrailia

Favourite county in Ireland?  
I love Clare, the scenery is amazing and there is so much to do

Theres the Burren, and ancient neolithic tombs, its class!

Last film you saw?
Last film I saw was The Informant... it was alright, wouldnt go to see it again, but it wasn't woeful either!

Who would you want to play you in a film?
 Liam Neeson, what a legend!

If there was a transfer market who would you like to sign for Collegeland?
 No-one, i wouldnt get my place if i did!
Its hard enoguh without better players on the team!!!

If you were throwing a dinner party and you could invite 3 people living or dead who would you ask around?


Well ive been told Jessica Alba has to be one so along with her i'd have Samuel L Jackson,
and... Cuchulain.. just to see what he was like

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Apparently I wanted to be a maggot or a dog, dont remember saying that though...

What’s your signature dish in the kitchen?
Tortellini - Pasta, Bacon, onion, mushrooms and cream - Lovely

If at first you dont succeed... give up its not worth it!

What did your school report say about you?
I had a good report! Nothing worth talking about

If you could change one GAA rule for football, what would it be?
Eh... none, it wouldn't be gaelic if it was changed too much
